Donations

Due to overwhelming community food and item donation response, United Way, the Greater Cedar Rapids Community Foundation, Marion Chamber Foundation, and the Red Cross are asking those wishing to donate consider doing so financially to established relief funds. Mental Health Resources

Linn County Public Health has many mental health resources on their website. See below for quick options for when you think you may need help.

•       211: Use the Iowa 211 resource and referral helpline.

  • Visit 211Iowa.org.

  • Text your ZIP code to 898211.

  • Dial 211 or 800-244-7431 from any phone. Help navigators are available any time of day and trained to assist individuals in connecting to local services. An interpretation service supports more than 150 languages.

When calling into 211 the caller is able to press the number 8 to speak to a crisis counselor about mental health needs. If the caller comes through 211 sharing they have the need to speak with someone, we will share the resources we have in the database as referrals for that caller.

•       Tanager Place: For clients and families who are in need, emails can be sent to:

  • clinicsec@tanagerplace.org for any needs related to clinic therapy services or

  • psychsec@tanagerplace.org for any needs related to psychiatry services and medication management.

    While phone service across the agency is interrupted, you may reach an operator to leave a message by calling 319-365-9164. If you are currently working with a provider, reach out to them.

    The Coralville office was not been impacted by the weather event. The C St Campus will remain closed to the public until further notice and the Estle Center on 5th Avenue opened on August 18.

•       Abbe Warm Line:  844-775-WARM (9276) Peer run, non-crisis, confidential listening line for anyone struggling with mental health or substance use issues

•       Mercy Medical Center:

  • Family Counseling and Outpatient Psychiatry: ​319-398-6575

    • Offers medication management and individual or family counseling by telephone, video or in office, for multiple conditions including depression, anxiety, grief and how to discuss COVID-19 with your children.

  • Inpatient Crisis Stabilization, Access Crisis and Assessment, Mercy Medical Center’s Behavioral Health Unit, Mercy Access Crisis and Assessment Phone: 319-398-6476

    • For Behavioral Health Unit: Admission criteria must be met by presenting at the Emergency Room. For Mercy Crisis and Assessment: Helps patients learn to stabilize during crisis through inpatient programs. On a 24-hour basis, a mental health professional is available for telephone consultation.
